As the Frederick School’s full-service school partner, AIP coordinates a wide variety of afterschool clubs and activities at the Frederick School, open to all Frederick students.  Activities include:

  • Drop-in or short-term activities led by Frederick teachers,
  • Academic support and tutoring provided by Frederick teachers,
  • Sports teams, and
  • An array of youth enrichment programs offered by community partner organizations.

AIP brings many partner organizations into the school to provide programming and opportunities for Frederick students.  In recent years, partners have included: Metro Lacrosse, Tenacity, SWIRLS Double Dutch Team, Massachusetts College of Art, Girl Scouts, La Alianza Hispana, CityKicks, American Heart Association, New England Patriots, Judge Baker Child Care Center, Earthworks, and Urban Ecology Initiative.

Our goal is to provide Frederick students with exposure to many to new skills, ideas, and activities.  Enrichment activities that support Frederick students’ academic, social, physical, and emotional development will help them develop into well-rounded, successful adults.  Because the Frederick is located in a neighborhood with limited youth programming and with a high rate of violence, afterschool activities at the school building help keep children safe.
