Trauma Informed Schools

Trauma Sensitive Schools
AIP staff can be hired as consultants to provide coaching for schools and school districts on developing trauma-sensitive teaching and learning environments. Our services include working with administrators to plan and implement whole-school change as well as working with teachers to provide training on trauma exposure and creating a trauma-sensitive classroom. We also have the only program in New England that focuses on the prevention and intervention of secondary traumatic stress for teachers and school-based clinicians.
AIP’s is a National Center for Trauma Care in Schools, as designated by the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration. Our partnership with the National Childhood Traumatic Stress Network (NCTSN) provides us with resources such as the NCTSN) Framework for a Trauma-Informed School.
AIP also has experience supporting school staff in developing mindfulness programs including our Mindful Moments Rooms. Schools that implement Mindful Moments Rooms receive training on developing students’ self-awareness and self-regulation skills.
